Established in 1965 and growing steadily ever since, R&S Hardwood Flooring Co. Inc., based at 4785 Lehigh Drive (Route 248), Walnutport, has been building its reputation consistently through repeated successes at floor installations and restorations.
     R&S Hardwood Flooring, initially headquartered at 4370 Chestnut Drive, Walnutport, was originally founded and headed by company president, Richard C. Kulp Sr., a veteran of the industry, who got his start in 1954.
     From the beginning, Mr. Rich Kulp was assisted at the operation of the family-owned business by his sons, Richard Jr. and Michael, both of whom are veterans of the flooring industry.  In addition, office operations for the company were supervised by Mr. Rich Kulp’s wife, Peggy, and their daughter, Kim.

     All types of hardwood floors are installed with efficiency and true expertise by the R&S staff, whose specialty is the use of exotic woods from South America.  R&S Hardwood Flooring began not only installing hardwood flooring, but also carpet and vinyl flooring as well as wood decking. In order to concentrate entirely on hardwood flooring, the company eliminated the installation of other types of flooring.  R&S has since evolved into a company capable of not only installing beautiful natural and pre-finished hardwood flooring, but also installing intricate wood patterns and medallions.
     Following the passing of Richard Kulp Sr. in 1995, the business was owned and operated by his wife Peggy Kulp.  Following Peggy’s retirement in 2002, the company was equally divided among her three children, Rick Kulp Jr., Kim Szoke, and Mike Kulp, with Rick acting as company President.  The Kulp family still owns and operates the company today.
     The Kulp family are fortunate to have working with them a group of talented and totally dedicated professional employees, all of whom have had years of experience in the industry.  Included in this group of Flooring Technicians are Rick Kulp’s sons Richard Kulp III and Jacob Kulp, along with Craig Baus, Matt Temos, Seneca Jones, and Nick Farkas.  Also working for the company are Rick’s wife Kathy Kulp, who operates the company showroom; Umberto Pasquariello Jr., Customer Service Representative and Estimator; and Tasha Bedocks, the company’s Office Manager.
